Cambridge Who's Who Names Eugene R. Lujan Professional of the Year in Gaming Regulations and Compliance
As Chairman of the Santa Ana Gaming Regulatory Commission, Eugene Lujan Ensures Fair Play

BERNALILLO, NM, December 29, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eugene R. Lujan, Chairman of the Santa Ana Gaming Regulatory Commission, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Gaming Regulations and Compliance. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

For the last eight years, Mr. Lujan has run the Santa Ana Gaming Regulatory Commission. In his role as chairman, he ensures that the casinos are in compliance with all regulations, with regard to internal control standards. He also conducts policies and procedures without deviation and oversees the commission and a staff of 15. In addition, Mr. Lujan meets with the national gaming commission that oversees him, reporting to them regarding compliance.

Mr. Lujan has 18 years of experience in his field and is expert in management. Attributing his success to growing up on a reservation and serving in the military, he became involved in his profession because he was appointed to the position by the tribe when he was still working at Sandia National Laboratories. He retired from the science and engineering laboratory after 27 years, and entered into his current industry and position.

In 1975, Mr. Lujan received a Bachelor of Arts in industrial arts from San Francisco State University. He also served in the U.S. Army, earning a Bronze Star and a Commendation Medal, as well as a Combat Infantry Badge. Currently, he sits on the board of directors for various tribal entities and is on the board of directors for the Vietnam Veterans Association. In the future, Mr. Lujan hopes to help his tribe on a cultural level by helping to retain the language, revive the community and the culture, and go back to the traditions. He also hopes to retire from his position at the casino in three years.
