SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, April 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vivid Sydney returns to the New South Wales capital at the end of next month and is set to bring three weeks of ideas, lights and music to the city.

This year's festival will include everything from fire installations and light projections of floating jellyfish at Sydney Harbour to 3D illuminations and performances from some of the world's biggest musicians at the Opera House.

The bill also features an outdoor exhibition boasting more than 40 light displays from Australian and international artists. Children will be encouraged to climb on the interactive sculptures, while amateur photographers can put their cameras' night settings to the test.

Modular star Stephen Pavlovic has curated the line-up of Vivid LIVE, the festival's musical element. Among the big names set to appear at the Sydney Opera House are Spiritualized, Bat for Lashes, The Avalanches, Cut Copy and legendary jazz man Sonny Rollins.

All of the various free and ticketed events will be based around the Opera House, Circular Quay and The Rocks retail and restaurant district.

Vivid Sydney runs from May 27th to June 13th.
