LateRooms.com - Harry Redknapp Could Run Rome Marathon in Future
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has refused to rule out lining up for the Rome Marathon in future.
ROME, ITALY, February 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the Rome Marathon just weeks away, the organisers spoke to Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp about the possibility of him taking part.
The Spurs boss and his wife support the Round Table Children's Wish charity, which raised GBP18,000 at the 2010 edition of the event.
Redknapp told the Rome Marathon team there is a part of him that wants to get involved in a distance running occasion.
When asked if he would sign up in future, the football manager said: "I'd never say never! But I like to put 100 per cent effort into everything I do and whilst I'm managing Spurs I haven't the time to dedicate to marathon training."
While Redknapp will not be present on the starting line of the Rome race on March 20th, there will be plenty of other runners involved in the 17th edition of the challenge.
The route takes in many of the city's major landmarks, including St Peter's Basilica and the Coliseum.
On the day, the first wave of athletes will get going at 09:00 local time.
If participants have not booked accommodation for the race yet, they could browse through a selection of 5 star hotels in Rome on LateRooms.com. Among the potential options available is the Sheraton Roma Rome.
